Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything from NASA, the Space Force and commercial space companies to the advent of Space Tourism. Kristin was mother of NASA astronauts and a space enthusiast has spent her entire childhood within the space industry. She spent five years working as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy during the Trump and Biden Administrations. Also, she covered the presidential election in 2020 and the efforts of two administrations to fight the coronavirus. Kristin traveled extensively, both with the vice president and president. She even went on an extremely secret trip to Afghanistan together with Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for over a decade before becoming a part of the network. She won the Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin used her experience in front of the camera to launch Field Mouse Films. The firm specialized in making documentary films and was a favorite of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter live in Washington, D.C.
